INTRO
This project was the result of a combination of physical collage and digital editing. We had the freedom to choose the concept and images, and I wanted to represent the place where I grew up and was born, Hong Kong, and the current political issues prevailing there.
MANDATE
In our digital imaging class, we were tasked to first choose an image based off a political issue. Being born in Hong Kong, I felt attached to raise awareness of the issues. We first would physically do a collage of our choice and after go on photoshop to refine it.
RESULT
By choosing to highlight color saturation, I sought to capture the vibrant and dynamic essence of Hong Kong. The color palette selected in the retouching process was intended to evoke the distinctive visual characteristics of the city, thereby strengthening the connection between the subject of the poster and its context.

PROCESS
I manually cut out elongated triangles emerging from the microphone used by the protester, as if his voice was so loud that it had a physical impact on the world around him. Next, in Photoshop, I removed any glue marks or imperfections, boosting the saturation to closely match the Hong Kong color palette.The artistic approach aimed to create powerful symbolism, highlighting the power of voice in the context of political issues in Hong Kong. The elongated triangles visually represented the expanding influence of the voice, creating an evocative visual dynamic.
